Attending the event at Manhattan's famed Ziegfeld Theatre were actors Chris Rock, Ben Stiller, Jada Pinkett Smith, David Schwimmer and Cedric the Entertainer -- all of whom provided voices for the gaggle of animated animals who leave the safety of New York's Central Park Zoo for a walk on the wild side in, well, Connecticut.

Stopped at Grand Central Station before they can catch a train out of the Big Apple, the lion, zebra, hippo and giraffe are unexpectedly crated and sent to Africa, only to be shipwrecked on the exotic island of Madagascar. The long-time friends must figure out what they really want out of life and determine whether where one lives is key to happiness.

Sacha Baron Cohen, Will Smith, Julianne Moore, Al Roker, Matt Lauer, Christine Taylor, Maura Tierney, Jerry Stiller, Anne Meara, Patti Smythe, Joe Pantoliano and Veronica Webb also attended the premier.
